{"id":366,"date":"2004-11-10T01:40:11","date_gmt":"2004-11-09T17:40:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/foxpro.ntsl119.com\/scr\/?p=366"},"modified":"2007-10-20T19:14:37","modified_gmt":"2007-10-20T11:14:37","slug":"3d-cinematics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/foxpro.ntsl119.com\/scr\/archives\/366","title":{"rendered":"3D Cinematics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the past two days I&#8217;ve been viewing cinematics and trailers that involves a great deal of hardcore visual effects and render power.<\/p>\n<p>It started when Takz (a Filipino friend of mine in Netherlands), gave me that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldofwarcraft.com\/trailer\/\" target=\"_blank\">World of Warcraft cinematic trailer<\/a>. Released last November <font size=\"2\" face=\"Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif\">05, 2004<\/font>&#8230; this one&#8217;s different from the previous World of Warcraft teaser cinematic I saw years ago.<\/p>\n<p>(Awrk&#8230; as of <font size=\"2\" face=\"Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif\">1:43<\/font>AM <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldofwarcraft.com\" target=\"_blank\">WorldofWarcraft.com<\/a> is currently down.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blizzard.com\" target=\"_blank\">Blizzard<\/a> is consistenly pumping these uber cinematics since the third installment of Warcraft.<\/p>\n<p>Starcraft trailers were good during their era but quite far from the quality of Warcraft III cinematics.<\/p>\n<p>I would love to elaborate and paint this blog with words but my supply of coca cola in cans ran out and when that happens I&#8217;m usually not in the mood to do things.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll give you one observation though, why their cinematics rock. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not just the attention to the most intricate details (and damn the attention to details would wipe out both Pixar&#8217;s Finding Nemo and the Final Fantasy movie out of this world and beyond).<\/p>\n<p>Aside from the technical aspects, Warcraft cinematics are truly moving.<\/p>\n<p>It moves you.<\/p>\n<p>Before I start getting mushy in here let me give you the other <font size=\"2\" face=\"Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif\">3<\/font>D clips that were also given to me&#8230; a <a href=\"http:\/\/omind.free.fr\/stock\/aa_15s.avi\" target=\"_blank\">Double A (or is AA) bond paper commercial<\/a>. That&#8217;s the <font size=\"2\" face=\"Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif\">15<\/font> second clip, here&#8217;s a different <a href=\"http:\/\/omind.free.fr\/stock\/aa_30s.avi\" target=\"_blank\">30 second clip<\/a> of the same theme.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.movie-list.com\/trailers.php?id=starwars3\" target=\"_blank\">Star Wars III: Revenge of The Sith teaser<\/a> also popped out sometime last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>And then of course there&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/trailers\/disney\/the_incredibles\/\" target=\"_blank\"> The Incredibles trailers and one teaser<\/a> (if you haven&#8217;t watched the movie yet), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/trailers\/fox\/robots\/international\/\" target=\"_blank\">Robots<\/a> (this time from the makers of Ice Age) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/trailers\/disney\/cars\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cars<\/a> (also from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pixar.com\" target=\"_blank\">Pixar<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>I am not quite impressed with the renders Polar Express is showing so no links for now.<\/p>\n<p>\ufffd\ufffd\ufffd<\/p>\n<p>Now that you&#8217;re done buffering those cinematics in your download queue&#8230; I&#8217;d like you to meet <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arkvfx.net\/cgtalk\/jenny.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Jenny<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the past two days I&#8217;ve been viewing cinematics and trailers that involves a great deal of hardcore visual effects and render power.
