{"id":477,"date":"2005-05-16T14:29:10","date_gmt":"2005-05-16T06:29:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/foxpro.ntsl119.com\/scr\/?p=477"},"modified":"2007-10-15T00:30:17","modified_gmt":"2007-10-14T16:30:17","slug":"poser","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/foxpro.ntsl119.com\/scr\/archives\/477","title":{"rendered":"Poser"},"content":{"rendered":"<table width=\"435\" border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tr valign=\"top\">\n<td width=\"252\"><a href=\"http:\/\/foxpro.ntsl119.com\/LOG\/20050515-F202-01L.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/foxpro.ntsl119.com\/LOG\/20050515-F202-01.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"460\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/td>\n<td width=\"183\">\n<p>Yeah&#8230; I&#8217;ve been playing around with Poser for the past few days and haven&#8217;t been coding that much.<\/p>\n<p>Poser has improved so much since the last time I was taking my lunch with it (and even skipping office work just to play with it). <\/p>\n<p>Even the online Poser community increased by folds, not only by number of sites, but by number of cool freebies as well.<\/p>\n<p>In a nutshell (for those who haven&#8217;t heard of Poser yet), it is one of those so easy to use click-here-click-there <font size=\"2\" face=\"Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif\">3<\/font>D applications where, given a default set of figures, you can add some props, dress them up, add some lights, change their expressions and pose them to your heart&#8217;s (and libido&#8217;s) desire.\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p>You can download tons of characters, props, poses, or if you have some extra cash, you can even buy some cool <font size=\"2\" face=\"Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif\">3<\/font>D figures from sites such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.daz3d.com\" target=\"_blank\">Daz3D<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.renderosity.com\" target=\"_blank\">Renderosity<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>(The model used above is a freebie MDP F<font size=\"2\" face=\"Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif\">202<\/font> model downloaded from <a href=\"http:\/\/mdp.s18.xrea.com\" target=\"_blank\">this link<\/a>. I&#8217;m still thinking of what name to give her.)<\/p>\n<p>Of course you can delve deeper, morph objects and faces (imported from jpegs), create meshes, &#8216;clothify&#8217; and create Python scripts. <\/p>\n<p>Yes&#8230; applying even simple random generating algorithms on vertices produces cool abstract stuff. But then, involving algorithms in this easy click and pose application defeats my purpose of just having fun and easing the stress produced by software development.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t like things to sound this way:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><font size=\"2\" face=\"Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif\">Q: What do you do for work..?<br \/>\n              A: Create database programs and algorithms.<br \/>\n              Q: What do you do when you&#8217;re not working..?<br \/>\n              A: Create algorithms\/scripts in Poser.<\/font><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\nI will, post more thoughts about Poser and link to some cool Poser produced images in the days to come.<\/p>\n<p>Who knows, I might even post some of my Poser-renders of the day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yeah&#8230; I&#8217;ve been playing around with Poser for the past few days and haven&#8217;t been coding that much.
